This architectural proposal for a data center and wind turbine blade factory embedded along the Shannon Estuary is a hybrid – in programmatic, industrial, and construction terms. Stacked vertically and conjoined in a complex, the data pair shares utilities, renewable power, and expertise in the matrix of data storage. Entwining this pair at the architectural scale pushes both industries to resolve their production and consumption in a strategic manner. It also establishes a building type that can inherit new life through reuse at the speed of technological advancement and the ambivalent hyperscales of data and manufacturing.
